SQNPI Sustainable Quality mark

SQNPI certification

Sustainability with a rulebook

The whole farm is SQNPI certified — Italy’s National Quality System for Integrated Production: all our vineyards follow a public set of rules and are audited by an independent body every year. The bee of the “Sustainable Quality” mark is the sign of this commitment.

What it means here

In practice, every day

Integrated production is a way of farming that limits treatments to what is necessary and keeps track of them: every treatment is recorded in the field logbook and checked every year by an independent body.

No herbicides

Grass between the rows and mechanical and manual work: the grass is managed, not poisoned.

The white marl soils of the vineyards
Copper and sulphur protection

Treatments based mainly on copper and sulphur, kept to the necessary minimum and recorded according to the integrated production rules.

The farm’s own resources

The cold of the Langhe winter stabilizes the wines, water from the well controls the temperatures: less energy, more common sense.

Where you find the bee

The certification has two levels. The farming level covers the whole estate: every vineyard, every wine. The winemaking level, which is the condition for printing the bee on the label, today covers four wines: Dolcetto d’Alba, Barbera d’Alba Superiore, Rosato Tramonto and Piemonte Chardonnay. The others come from the same certified vineyards: the mark will reach their labels too, vintage after vintage.
